Event Rules:	Event rules Cancellations must be made by midnight prior to the day of the event. Failure to fulfill a SEATED reservation or arrival after check-in is completed will be recorded as a “No-Show.” Three “No-Shows” within a year will result in restriction from attending SAG Foundation events for six months. The “No-Show” policy does not apply to WAITLISTED reservations – UNLESS you are moved to the seated list. If you have been moved to the seated list and will not be attending you must cancel by midnight to avoid being recorded as a “No-Show”. Your status will be changed no later than midnight prior to the day of the event – to give you time to cancel. Waiting List – If you are on the waiting list and a spot opens up you will be moved to the seated list and notified via email (by midnight prior to the day of the event). You may also check your status at any time by logging into our website. If you are still on the waiting list the day of an event you are welcome to show up to see if space is available. You WILL NOT be recorded as a “no show” if you do not attend or if you show up and do not get in. •You must present your CURRENT SAG ID (AFTRA or Equity) for admittance. If you do not bring your current card you will be moved to the waiting list. •RSVPs are NOT guaranteed seats. Events are overbooked to ensure a full house. •Late arrivals will not be admitted. • SAG members may bring one guest unless otherwise specified – your guest must have a reservation and must check in with you. Seats cannot be held. •No photography is allowed. •No audio or video recording is permitted. Items may be confiscated if used. •No soliciting (including giving out headshots, reels, business cards, scripts) or excessive autograph seeking from guest speakers •Cell phones/pagers must be turned off •No food allowed. Water only in a closed container. •When you register for an event you are expected to stay for the entire event. •SAG Foundation events are open to SAG, AFTRA and Equity members only unless otherwise specified.
	This event contains a 1 hour PRE-RECORDED segment then follows with a LIVE Q & A session with some of Hollywood's most established lawyers and deal makers. You have a close knit group of actor friends. You and a buddy wrote the script already. You know a guy who’s a “brilliant” director and you're ready to act in your own film. It might make sense to listen to entertainment lawyer Eric Weissmann and William J. Immerman of Yari Film Group as they enlighten indie filmmakers on “the art of the deal”. What are the rules concerning financing your film? How do you structure financing agreements with the cast, director, and crew? What about percentage participations, insurance and completion bond requirements? What’s the best way to work with necessary unions? How do you secure a positive distribution deal? Eric Weissmann: Perspective of Filmmaker, Deals and Definition of Profits Eric Weissmann is a senior partner in Weissmann Wolff Bergman Coleman Grodin & Evall LLP in the entertainment department. He was one of the founding partners of the firm in 1981. Mr. Weissmann represents actors, directors, producers, and financiers. Mr. Weissmann has been practicing entertainment law since 1957 when he joined the legal department of MCA Artists Ltd. Mr. Weissmann travels extensively, participating at entertainment symposiums in foreign countries, including Russia and Australia, at the Cannes Film Festival, and has lectured for the U.S. State Department in Brazil, Bolivia and El Salvador. William J. Immerman: Perspective of Film Buyers and Exhibitors William J. Immerman is currently Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Yari Film Group, LLC), an independent motion picture and television production, financing and distribution company. Prior to joining Yari, Immerman was Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Crusader Entertainment, LLC, an Anschutz Film Group company, from its founding until its merger with Walden Media, LLC. Throughout his career, Immerman joined Twentieth Century Fox as Vice President in charge of Business Affairs and acted as chief talent, production and distribution negotiator for the studio.
