Programs

The SAG Foundation takes pride in giving actors the tools they need to empower themselves as both artists and professionals. From seminars and workshops to financial assistance and scholarships, our programs are offered free of charge to qualifying SAG members in good standing. Many of our events are also open to AFTRA and Equity members.


Assistance

The SAG Foundation makes it a priority to help actors, whether they seek financial assistance for medical expenses or life’s basic necessities in times of crisis.

 

Catastrophic Health Fund

Grants are available to eligible Guild members and their dependents who suffer from catastrophic illness or injury and are unable to afford the Guild Health Plan’s Self-Pay Program.

 

Casting Access Project

Informative, involving workshops give Guild members an opportunity to meet, work with and learn from established casting professionals.

 

Conversations

This national speaker series invites well-known, working actors to share their experiences in the industry with an audience of actors.

 

LifeRaft

Innovative seminars featuring hosts and panels of industry leaders provide useful insight into the business of acting.

 

Patron of the Arts

Each year, the Screen Actors Guild Foundation is honored to present the Patron of the Arts Award to an entertainment industry visionary whose outstanding achievements before, behind and beyond the lens demonstrate a life-affirming dedication to efforts both artistic and humanitarian. 

 

 
Scholarships

Over the last 35 years, the Scholarship Fund has helped qualified Guild members and their children reach their educational potential by providing more than six million dollars in scholarships for study at accredited institutions of higher learning.  

 

 

 

Voice-Over

The Don LaFontaine Voice-Over Lab has a fully-equipped sound studio allowing actors to work on voice-over craft, demos and auditions.  A classroom space will host workshops, seminars and demonstrations led by experts in the field.
