To me, there is nothing more important, more humane, more compassionate, than devoting oneself to pure giving, particularly when the giving transcends politics or popularity. We who are fortunate enough to work as actors and actresses in this magnificent business of ours, should thank our lucky stars for the good people who come to work every day in the pure service of our brothers and sisters whose luck has evaded them. These are the people of the SCREEN ACTORS GUILD FOUNDATION. And they deserve our thoughts, prayers, and support every single day.

Founded in 1985, the non-profit Screen Actors Guild Foundation develops and sustains programs that assist, educate and inspire actors, toward their fullest potential in career, life and community. These programs include the Catastrophic Health Fund, which provides grants to actors and their dependents whose catastrophic illness or injury destroys their ability to work and leaves them unable to afford the Guild Health Plan’s Self-Pay Program. At any given time, countless actors and their families are in danger of losing their health insurance. While their quality of life is threatened, your participation in this Second Annual Golf Classic can give them the hope, dignity and medical attention they deserve at a time when they need it most.
