The Don LaFontaine Voice-Over Lab

Located at the SAG Foundation Actors Center in Los Angeles, the
Don LaFontaine Voice-Over Lab’s fully-equipped sound studio allows actors to work on voice-over craft, demos and auditions while classroom space hosts workshops, seminars and demonstrations led by experts in the field. Don’s personal engineer, George Whittam, continues to oversee the design and execution of the Lab. We’re very pleased that Don’s wife, Nita Whitaker LaFontaine, fully endorses the project.

The Lab helps the voice-over community thrive in new ways, and also brings you a great opportunity:  we are reaching out to respected industry professionals to aid in the advancement of these resources. The Lab features a prominent donor wall to display all of the organizations and individuals who have assisted in making this project a success. As we continue to add names to our donor wall, we would be honored to add your name to this list as well. Your monetary, or in kind donation can help make a difference.

The names of donors who give over $5,000 are placed on the donor wall, and we invite them to leave promotional materials or provide demonstrations of their products at the Lab. Professionals, like yourself, will be a premium source for guiding the success of this extraordinary Lab.

We are sure that your contribution to the Don LaFontaine Voice-Over Lab will work toward our mutual benefit.  We hope that you will consider this opportunity to pay tribute to "The Voice" and his spirit of excellence, generousity and encouragement.

Apply now to get involved with the Don LaFontaine Voice-Over Lab. Usage of the Don LaFontaine Voice-Over Lab and its many free services, including workshops, seminars and classes, is restricted to those applicants who have been confirmed for access after completing the Lab’s Usage Application.

Partnering for Success: BSW

Advancing the Don LaFontaine Voice-Over Lab's progress are such contributors as Manley, Sennheiser/Neumann, MXL, Pearlman Microphones and BSW. The generous donation of furniture and equipment from BSW is as much a show of support as a gesture of gratitude to the voice-over industry.

Here's Tim Schwieger, President and CEO of Broadcast Supply Worldwide, at the 2010 NAB Show in Las Vegas sharing news of their involvement:

If you are interested in equipment from BSW, the Lab can benefit from your purchase! Mention the SAG Foundation as the affiliate and we will receive a commission from the sale, another way in which BSW is helping the SAG Foundation, and the Don LaFontaine Voice-Over Lab, bring assistance, education and inspiration to the voice-over community.
